Started testing the hearing of native freshwater fish in collaboration with the USGS Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center.
Attended the Society for Integrated and Comparative Biology in Austin Texas presenting - the effect of anthropogenic sound on toadfish communication
Attended the Early Career Acousticians Retreat as part of the Acoustical Society of America Conference
Won the 1st Annual UMD Biology Department Pumpkin Carving contest with my deep sea anglerfish complete with parasitic male on the side
Started teaching as a UMD Freshman Seminar Instructor and Animal Physiology Lecturer
Trip out on the RV Blue Heron (UMDs research vessel) to talk to animal physiology students about the effect of noise on aquatic life.
Became a Mistletoe Research Fellowship, partnered with Dimpora technology, and traveled to Singapore to participate in a startup collaboration.
Attended the "Effects of Noise on Aquatic Life" conference in The Hague, Netherlands
Started working as a Whitman Research Assistant at the Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
Was a teaching assistant on "Field Studies in Marine Biology" class at the Friday Harbor Laboratories, Washington
Retrieved hydrophone from Lake Superior which has been recording under the ice since last year!
Helped organize the Twin Ports Early Career Research Symposium
Hydrophones were retrieved from under the ice in Barrs Lake, Minnesota
Undergraduate Alayna Mackiewicz presented a collaborative project on toadfish vocalizations and the effect of noise at the Society for Integrative Biology Conference in Tampa, Florida
Attended the Acoustical Society of America Conference and met up with lab alumni Kelsie Murchy who is doing a PhD at Uni. of Victoria.
Road trip to Ilinois with masters student Emily Fleissner to film jumping Asian carp!
Presented at the Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference, Wisconsin.
Became a Mistletoe Research Fellow, partnered with Blue Frontiers and Conservation X Labs, and attended partnership meeting in Tokyo, Japan.
Presented at the National American Fisheries Society Meeting in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Collected hydrophones from Lock and Dam 5 in Minnesota, that have been recording the soundscape during vessel transit at the Lock.
Return to my undergraduate university, University of Southampton, UK to give a guest talk on fish passage techniques

Helped take a group of students to Minnesota zoo as part of the Comparative Animal Physiology course at UMD

Collaborated with Julie Butler as a visiting scientist from the University of Louisana to research African cichlid visual sensitivity.
Joined the Mensinger lab to start a postdoc at the University of Minnesota Duluth
Defended PhD in "soundscape ecology" from the University of Auckland, New Zealand
